Dr. Scott Gallagher is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of South Florida, a Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is member of multiple professional organizations including the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, and the Association for Academic Surgery. In addition to training at the University of South Florida, he has done more than 100 bariatric-related procedures as primary surgeon. With a strong interest in metabolic and endocrine surgery, Dr. Gallagher completed a Junior Faculty Surgical Endocrinology Fellowship as well as the Advanced GI & Bariatric Surgery Research Fellowship at University of South Florida. He has published more than forty peer-reviewed papers and chapters on laparoscopic, bariatric, and endocrine surgery; he is active in clinical research as principal investigator of clinical trials and outcomes research focusing on patient safety and patient access to care. |
